Kermode

I make websites for a living. I love CSS and building simple and modular stylesheets. Somewhere along the way I also turned into a Ruby developer. Life comes at you fast I guess. You can read my resume to learn about my journey so far.

Go Golfing with CSS Battle

CSS Battle https://cssbattle.dev

CSSBattle is an online CSS Code Golfing battleground. Here, players from all around the world try to visually replicate “Targets” in smallest possible CSS code and battle it out to get to the top of the leaderboard.

I’ve seen this a lot in “traditional” programming languages but never with a design language like CSS. In this version they give you an image that you need to recreate in as little HTML and CSS as possible.

While golfing almost never results in shippable or production quality code, it’s a great way to learn more about the spec that you’re working with as you try to explore all of the possible shortcuts you can take.

They currently have twelve different challenges (in increasing difficulty) and plan to add more later.
